A small, serene & beautiful lake-town, Khurpatal is located 12kms away from its famous big brother – Nainital.
There are a lot many things to see at Khurpatal – the lake changes colours every season; the crops in the fields too range from potatoes, carrots, beans, lady-finger to gourds & fruits, depending upon the season.
And just like anywhere in the mountains, there are quite many places to trek if you are so keen. A trek to Nainital would take around 1-2 hours, with numerous scenic views in between.
There are a few hotels at Khurpatal, the most famous being Dynasty resort – a 3 star hotel with fairly essential amenities. There are other AirBnBs/OYOs too.
There are a few shops for small grocery items but for anything non-essential, one would have to travel to nearest bigger town, which in most cases, happens to be Nainital.
Boating / Fishing is not permitted at Khurpatal lake but you can spend hours sitting on the side of the lake just observing the flora and full-of-nature ambience Khurpatal has to offer.
